Very Berry Treat

Layered trifle in glass bowl: sponge cake, white cream, berry sauce, topped with sugared raspberries.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sifted powdered sugar
  • 1 package cream cheese softened (3 oz.)
  • 1 package dessert topping mix (2 oz. env.)
  • 5 cup angel cake cubes ( 7 oz.)
  • 1 can cherry pie filling (21 oz.)
Yield: 9 Servings
Prep Time: 3 hours 30 minutes

Instructions

In a large mixer bowl, gradually add powdered sugar to cream cheese, beating until fluffy. Prepare topping mix according to package directions. Fold into cream cheese mixture. Fold in angel cake cubes. Turn into 11 x 7 x 1 1/2-inch baking pan. Spread cherry pie filling over top. Cover and chill 2 to 3 hours. Serves 9. 

Great made with blueberry pie filling, too.
