Swiss Steak Supreme

Sliced Swiss steak with tomato sauce over egg noodles, garnished with parsley.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 2 teaspoon salt
  • pepper
  • 1 arm roast or thin chuck roast
  • 2 can tomato bisque soup
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon basil
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon celery seed
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon parsley flakes (optional)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 medium onion (chopped)
  • 2 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 cup mushroom pieces (optional)
Yield: 6 Servings
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 2 hours 50 minutes

Instructions

Mix flour, salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper; pound into steak. Brown steak in small amount of hot fat in Dutch oven. Combine soup, 1 1/2 teaspoons pepper and remaining ingredients; pour over steak. Cover. Bake at 350 degrees for 2 hours and 30 minutes. Serve over noodles.
