Gingersnaps

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cup shortening
  • 2 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 4 cup sifted flour
  • 2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoon cloves
  • 2 teaspoon ginger
Yield: 60 Cookies
Prep Time: 30 minutes
Cook Time: 18 minutes

Instructions

Cream shortening and sugar together. Beat in eggs. Add molasses and sifted dry ingredients. Roll into 1-inch balls. Dip in sugar. Place on baking sheet 2 inches apart. Bake in moderate oven at 375° for 15 to 18 minutes. Makes 5 dozen.
