Chocolate Nut Crunch

Slice of chocolate tart with nut crumble topping on a white plate, garnished with edible flowers.

Ingredients

  • 2 cup vanilla wafer crumbs
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 egg yolks (beaten )
  • 1 1/2 squares melted semi-sweet chocolate
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 egg whites (stiffly beaten)
Yield: 12 Servings
Prep Time: 30 minutes

Instructions

Mix crumbs and nuts, 1/2 for the bottom and 1/2 for the top. Use an 8-inch pan. Cream butter and sugar together. Add egg yolks; mix in thoroughly. Add chocolate and vanilla. Fold in beaten egg whites until all the same color. Put chocolate mixture on top of crumb mixture and put other 1/2 of crumb mixture on top. Refrigerate.
