Cherry Pecan Bread

Sliced cherry pecan bread loaf on a white plate, topped with pecans and cherries.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cup flour, all purpose (sifted)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup pecans (chopped)
  • 1 can maraschino cherries (10 oz. jar)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
Yield: 1 Loaf
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 1 hour

Instructions

In large mixer bowl, cream together sugar, butter and eggs until light and fluffy. Sift together flour, soda and salt. Add to creamed mixture with buttermilk. Beat until blended. Stir in nuts, cherries and vanilla. Pour batter into 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan. Bake at 350° for 55 to 60 minutes.
