Black Walnut Meringue

Black walnut meringue: Round meringue topped with whipped cream and walnuts.

Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup rolled graham cracker crumbs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • whipped cream
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup flaked coconut
  • 1/2 cup chopped black walnuts
Yield: 12 Servings
Prep Time: 30 minutes
Cook Time: 30 minutes

Instructions

To 4 egg whites, beaten stiff, add sugar, one tablespoon at a time while continuing beating. Mix together and fold graham cracker crumbs, coconut, vanilla extract and black walnuts into egg whites. Pour into well-buttered Pyrex pie plate. Bake 30 minutes at 350°. Top with whipped cream and serve.
