Lane Road Branch Building Project Updates

Welcome to Your New Library!

We’re thrilled to announce an exciting transformation of your beloved Lane Road Branch! As we approach Lane Road’s 50th anniversary this year, we’re enhancing every aspect of your library experience while carefully preserving the warm, welcoming atmosphere you’ve come to love.

Building Your Future Library

In November 2024, we began transforming your library into a more vibrant, accessible space for everyone. Here’s what you can look forward to:

Enhanced Comfort & Technology

Our updated space prioritizes comfort and efficiency. A new HVAC system ensures optimal temperature control. Energy-efficient lighting with smart sensors reduces waste, while additional power outlets support modern work needs. Improved sound management creates a peaceful environment, and two new meeting rooms provide flexible collaboration spaces.

Modern Amenities Throughout

The new space offers improved functionality with an open floor plan that enhances browsing and studying. Updated technology includes new computer stations and expanded WiFi access. We’ve implemented a fully ADA-compliant furniture layout to ensure accessibility. The design maintains our core character while introducing modern décor and strategic lighting.

Reimagined Youth Area

With your support, our redesigned youth area will become a welcoming learning environment. Comfortable, flexible seating accommodates both children and caregivers. New workspaces support creativity and discovery, while accessible shelving makes books easy to explore. The space is thoughtfully designed to inspire young minds and encourage a love of learning.
