When our local catalog doesn’t have what you need, our partnership with statewide library networks ensures you aren’t out of luck. You can request books, audiobooks, CDs, and DVDs and have them delivered right to your preferred branch.

Borrowing Made Easy

• Automatic Renewals: Borrowed items will renew automatically as long as no other patrons are waiting for them and you haven’t reached the renewal limit.
• Easy Returns: You can return items borrowed through these programs to any participating library.

You should expect approximately a 10-14 day shipping time, as opposed to the short shipping time of other requests on your UAPL card. For this reason, SearchOhio / OhioLink may not be the best option if you need materials quickly. You will receive a notification when your item is ready to be picked up, just as you do for regular library requests.

SearchOhio Borrowing and Fine Policies

Loan information

• Loan periods for items borrowed from Search Ohio libraries may vary.
• The lending library determines the due date for its materials.
• Items may not share the same due date as other items on your account.
• Check your receipt or online account to find your exact item due date.
• Most items can be renewed as long as no other patrons have placed holds.
• Limit of 75 items (requested, checked out, or in-transit) – OhioLINK items contribute to this item limit.
• Reserved items will be held for 10 days.
• Holds cannot be extended or suspended.
• Items must be returned when they have reached their renewal limit.

Replacement Fee (Includes Teacher and Staff cards)

• Replacement fee of $25.00 if item is not returned within 30 days of due date

OhioLINK Borrowing and Fine Policies

• Limit of 25 SearchOhio / OhioLINK items total on your card – OhioLINK and SearchOhio items together count against the 25 items limit.
• Reserved items will be held for 10 days.
• Holds cannot be extended or suspended.
• Items must be returned when they have reached their renewal limit.

Replacement Fee (Includes Teacher and Staff cards)

• Replacement Fee of $125.00 if item is not returned within 30 days of due date
