Ingredients
- 1/2 cup brown sugar (firmly packed)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 1 tablespoon whole cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon whole allspice
- 1 cup water
- 2 us liquid quart apple juice
- 1 lemon (thinly sliced)
- 1 orange (thinly sliced)
Yield: 6 Servings
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 25 minutes
Instructions
Combine sugar, salt, spices and water in a small saucepan; bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes. Combine apple juice and fruit slices in a large saucepan; heat gently. Strain hot spice liquid into apple juice and serve warm. Yield: 2 quarts.
