Barbecue Sauce

Smooth, dark red barbecue sauce in a white bowl, garnished with parsley and red pepper flakes.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 can tomato paste (2 oz.)
  • 3/4 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 5 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoon parsley flakes (opt.)
  • 3 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup vinegar
  • 3 teaspoon Tabasco
  • 2 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon chives (dried)
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoon butter
  • 3 tablespoon molasses
  • 1/4 teaspoon allspice
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoon minced onions
Yield: 8 Servings
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 50 minutes

Instructions

Combine all of the above. Bring just to a boil, then simmer for 45 minutes. If grilling chicken, add sauce for last 40 minutes of grill time.
