Baked Carrots

Glazed baked carrots on a white plate, garnished with thyme and a light sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound carrots (peeled and cut into 2-inch pieces)
  • 3 tablespoon butter
  • 1 small onion (chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • salt (to taste)
  • freshly ground pepper (to taste)
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
Yield: 4 Servings
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cook Time: 40 minutes

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In the oven, melt the butter in a small casserole, add the onion and bake until soft and transparent. Stir in the carrots, season with sugar and thyme, and add salt and pepper to taste. Add chicken broth and bake until tender, about 30-40 minutes.
