Chris Taylor is the fourth Director at the Upper Arlington Public Library. She began as director on June 1, 2012 after 24 years at the Columbus Metropolitan Library. Before that she worked in libraries in and around her hometown of Cleveland, OH. Chris is active in both state and national library organizations. She is a member of the Public Library Association (PLA), American Library Association (ALA) and the Ohio Library Council (OLC). She served on the board of the Ohio Library Council for six years, various ALA and PLA committees as well as the Statistical Advisory Committee for the State Library of Ohio. Chris served on the board of OHIONET for 12 years. OHIONET is a statewide library service organization located here in Upper Arlington. Chris is a graduate of the Leadership Upper Arlington class of 2013 and now serves on its board. She is a member of the Upper Arlington Women’s Club. Chris has a BA in Mathematics from Kalamazoo College and a Masters of Library Science from Kent State University. Chris and her husband live in Upper Arlington. She has enjoyed becoming an integral part of the Upper Arlington community and looks forward to continuing to guide the Library in supporting the lifelong learning needs of the residents of Upper Arlington.
Kate Porter is the Assistant Director and is responsible for the operation of the public services departments. She has been with the Library since 1998 and previously held the positions of Circulation Manager and Media Services Manager. Prior to joining Upper Arlington Public Library, Kate was the Public Services Team Leader at the Washington-Centerville Public Library near Dayton. She has been very active in the Library’s computer system users’ group and has held several leadership positions in the group over the years. Kate has a BA in History from Wittenberg University, an MA in History from the University of Delaware and a Masters of Library Science from Kent State University. She is an alumna of the Leadership UA class of 2011. Her passion is providing excellent services, programs and materials to the residents of our community.
Director of Support Services
Greg Ramage is the Director of Support Services and is responsible for the operation of the library's IT, Technical Services, and Facilities departments. He came to the Upper Arlington Public Library in 2008 and previously held the position of IT Manager. Prior to joining Upper Arlington Public Library, Greg held the position of Manager of Library IT at The Ohio State University Libraries. Greg has a BS in Human Ecology from The Ohio State University. He is currently Coordinator of the Ohio Library Council's IT Action Council.
Justin Nahvi is the Fiscal Officer at the Upper Arlington Public Library having joined the organization in 2015. He has served in various financial, accounting and investment roles within the state and local levels of government in Ohio since 2003. Justin holds a Bachelor of Science from The Ohio State University, a Bachelor of Science from Franklin University and a Masters of Business Administration from Ohio Dominican University. He is a licensed Certified Public Account within the State of Ohio, a Certified Treasury Professional from the Association for Financial Professionals and a Chartered Global Management Accountant through the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Justin greatly anticipates the continuation of his career in public service through his role with the Upper Arlington Public Library and the opportunity to assist in the continued success, excellent reputation and important services that the organization provides to the public.
Deputy Fiscal Officer
Sarah is a Hilliard native and has lived in Columbus her whole life. The Upper Arlington Public Library was an important place to her throughout her childhood and is one of the reasons why reading is one of her many passions. Sarah started working for the Upper Arlington Public Library in 2007 as a Library Aide in the Reference Department working with periodicals and the UA Archives. Sarah is a graduate of The Ohio State University – Max M. Fisher College of Business. While completing her BSBA in Accounting she moved to the Administration Department as Deputy Fiscal Officer in 2011. She appreciates the value that her work provides for staff and patrons by managing payroll, accounts receivable and accounts payable. She serves as the Public Records Coordinator.
Human Resources Manager
Julie Whitt is the Human Resources Manager at the Upper Arlington Public Library. She has been with the Library since 2001. Julie has over 20 years of experience in the field of human resources including work at St. Vincent Family Centers and Mount Carmel Health Systems. Julie has been active in the Ohio Library Council’s Human Resources and Trainer Division. Julie holds a BA in Human Resources Management and Business Management from Franklin University. Julie’s goal in her position is to help build and support a strong Library team to provide excellent services to the UA community.
Diana Magee joined the Upper Arlington Public Library as Administrative Secretary in 2014. She attended Notre Dame University and has a B.A. in English from The Ohio State University. Diana has spent most of her life in Columbus, Ohio apart from living in Germany as a toddler and the three years she spent traveling in Australia, New Zealand, and Ireland. Diana is responsible for coordinating the Friends of the Upper Arlington Public Library funding requests, ordering and maintaining general supplies for the Library and maintaining the Board Minutes. She serves as the E-Rate Coordinator for the Library. Diana is happiest when helping others and looks forward to facilitating the goals of the Library and her fellow staff.
