The Art of Norman Rockwell

Norman Rockwell is one of America’s most well-known and beloved artists. In this program, we will explore Rockwell’s depictions of American life in his Saturday Evening Post covers and work for the Boy Scouts of America. Rockwell was incredibly prolific in his long life but often dismissed by critics, so we will discuss how Rockwell portrayed not only idealized scenes of America, but also the topical, and sometimes controversial, issues from his lifetime.

Presented by Ann Shifflet, Art History instructor at Columbus College of Art and Design.
