Dena's picture

If you haven't been to Tremont in a while you may want to swing by!

The Friends of the UAPL have generously donated funds to bring you a much improved Early Learning Center at Tremont in the Youth department.

You and your little ones will find more adult seating, a padded baby/toddler corner with an interactive activity center for crawlers, large soft blocks for constructive play, a 4X6 magnetic board with magnetic pieces to explore shapes and colors, and a 4X6 felt board for creating stories! Earlier in the year we added safer and more size-appropriate seating and tables for your little ones. Enjoy!

Then discover the illustrator, John Rocco, who has also written several books of his own, including Blackout, a 2012 Caldecott Honor book.

This past Saturday I had the opportunity to hear John Rocco give a presentation at the Mazza Weekend Conference. He was such an entertaining speaker, and some of his more memorable stories involved a shellfishing boat, Whoopi Goldberg, the movie Shrek, and his childhood with a lot of curly hair.
