Previous volunteers have shared how to play chess, draw manga, and taught various crafts such as knitting.

Youth Services Opportunities

All three locations of the  UAPL are seeking teen volunteers for this year's “Escape the Ordinary” Summer Library Club. There are three different opportunities available.

Teens entering grades 10-12 or who graduate high school in 2015 are eligible to be an Intern.  The position involves a commitment of 9-12 hours per week from May 26-August 2.  Applicants will be required to write an essay and be interviewed.

Those chosen will gain valuable leadership and career skills by training Junior Volunteers, assisting with programming and collection needs, and other duties as assigned.  Internships are unpaid but selected students will receive recognition, letters of recommendation and service hour credit for their participation.

Details can be found on the application below which is due May 1, 2015 by 6pm.
