We've recently made several exciting additions to our UA Archives collection! In case you're unfamiliar with the UA Archives, it’s the library's digital archives initiative. We partner with local organizations and individuals to accomplish two main goals:
- To preserve original documents, photographs, and other items related to the history and culture of Upper Arlington.
- To bring increased visibility and improved access to these materials by placing them online.
Thanks to the library's partnership with the UA Historical Society, we've just finished digitizing the entire History of Upper Arlington book, and it is now available online. This book has been appreciated and heavily used by students, teachers, and others in the UA community, and we're very excited to make it accessible.
And thanks to the City of Upper Arlington, we've recently added The City of Upper Arlington: Facts and Photos, 1917-1976. This book was published by the Upper Arlington Bicentennial Committee and presents a picture of Upper Arlington's growth as detailed in the community newspapers.
As we approach the centennial of Upper Arlington's incorporation as a village, we'll be adding many more items of historical significance to our community. We hope you check out the UA Archives collection on a frequent basis!
