Freelance Writing for Magazines

Writing for magazines is a great way to earn income while learning about topics that interest you. There is a lot of work out there for those who want to pursue this writing avenue – and the best part is, you sell your article before you write that first word. Registration is required and begins August 17th.

Karen Edwards has held full-time work in the communications field but has freelanced for magazines for more than 30 years. She has written publications such as Woman’s Day, Cooking Light, Vegetarian Times, Entrepreneur, AARP magazine, Early American Life, Health, Cat Fancy and the WineBuzz as well as scores of others.

Try Your Hand at Humor Writing

Join humorist Pat Snyder for a hands on session to develop your humor writing skills. Learn how to turn the odd moments from everyday life into an entertaining story. Registration is required and begins August 17th.

Pat Snyder is the author of The Dog Ate My Planner: Tales and Tips From an Overbooked Life. Her regular column “Balancing Act” has appeared in ThisWeek suburban papers since 1998.
