Story Starters Club

Do you like to write stories? Come be a part of our Story Starters Club. This month we will make storytelling kits and write fun stories using the kits. Take the kit home with you after the program and make up more stories with your family!. For grades 2-5. Registrations is required and begins September 24.

The Art of Vilhelm Hammershoi

Explore the paintings of Vilhelm Hammershoi, a Danish artist who produced some of the most lovely and haunting works to come out of the late 19th century and early 20th century. Discussion will include historic precedents for Hammershoi’s works by artists such as Vermeer, and we will analyze Hammershoi’s role in the Symbolist movement and how he relates to contemporaries like Edvard Munch. Ann Shifflet, Art History instructor at Columbus College of Art and Design is the presenter.

Pebble Mosaic Stepping Stone

Come create a pebble mosaic stepping stone for your garden. Julie Reeder will lead participants as they design pebble mosaics with stones in tinted concrete. When the concrete sets, you will have a one-of-a-kind stepping stone to place in your garden. Be sure to dress appropriately as this project might get messy. For adults and teens. Registration is required and opens September 10.

Adults and teens, Maximum of 8 participants, 120 min.
