Children ages 3-6 are invited to join us at the Lane Road Library for Stories and Crafts. Each week participants will listen to books and then make a fun project. Children and caregivers will learn prereading skills through stories, songs, rhymes, and art activities. No enrollment is required.
For children ages 2-3 and their caregivers. Songs, rhymes and stories teach children how sounds and letters relate to reading and will build a foundation for future learning. Interaction with instructors and other children encourages social development and allows caregivers to connect. No enrollment is necessary.

One of our most popular summer programs is back. Join us outside for finger painting, blowing bubbles, and creating artwork with sidewalk chalk. Children of all ages are welcome. Discussion of “A Moveable Feast: The Restored Edition” by Ernest Hemingway. Published posthumously in 1964, this remains one of Ernest Hemingways most enduring works. Since Hemingways personal papers were released in 1979, scholars have examined the changes made to the text before publication. Now, this special restored edition presents the original manuscript as the author prepared it to be published.
Kids in grades K-5 are invited to join Marty Marlatt and her trained therapy dogs for a fun way to practice their reading skills. Participants will take turns sharing stories with registered therapy dogs (TDI). Well provide the books or you can bring your favorites. No enrollment is required.

This monthly storytime is designed for young children on the Autism spectrum and/or children with sensory processing sensitivities. We will have stories, songs, and activities to encourage literacy and positive associations with reading and the library. This is a registered event; registration is limited to 8 children and their caregiver(s), and must be made in-person or by phone. This program is designed for children with a developmental stage of 3-5 years old; children aged 10 and under are welcome.
