The Post Impressionists: Vincent van Gogh

Vincent van Gogh was an artist for only a few years of his short life, but he has become one of the most well-known and beloved artists of the late 19th century. Born in Holland, he worked as an art dealer and missionary, but after moving to Paris in 1886, he developed into a tremendous painter. Join Ann Shifflet to discuss how van Gogh assimilated the loose brushwork and interest in color of the Impressionists, and how he integrated them into unique, extraordinary works by also portraying his thoughts and feelings in his art.
