Children and caregivers join us for stories, building, and fun! Each month we will read a couple of stories to start and then the building will begin with our LEGO DUPLO blocks. We provide the books and blocks as inspiration and then your child gets hands on building time to create anything they can imagine! Related reading: The Ultimate LEGO Book
When books and LEGOs collide, you get LEGO Lit! Each month we share a story and build around a theme. The Friends of the UAPL provide the LEGOs, you provide the fun. Registration is required and begins two weeks before each event. Related reading: Cool Robots by Sean Kinney
Calling all young engineers! Students in grades 3-5 will explore the scientific concepts of speed, incline, and gravity by designing and creating a structure out of cardboard roll tubes that can, at completion, facilitate the course of a marble from Point A to Point B. The library will provide all supplies. This is a registered event. Registration begins on January 2nd. Related reading: Energy and Motion by Allan B. Cobb
Join local florist, Eva Provenzale, and build your own terrarium. Please bring a clear container for your terrarium with or without a lid. Registration is required and begins March 23, 2012. For grades 6-12.

Teens will arrange flowers inspired by St. Patricks Day. Arrangements can be entered into the NorWest Flower Show for judging on March 16-17. Registration is required and begins February 28, 2013.

Preschoolers and their caregivers can join us for a short storytime followed by a walk in Northam Park where we’ll look for signs of spring and colors weather permitting. Registration is required and begins March 4, 2013.

Come and celebrate the holidays by making a gift out of candy! We’ll use chocolate, hard candy and more! We’ll have 3 crafts to choose from as well as gift bags to decorate and hold your creations. So come and play with your food and make a sparkling gift for a friend or family member. Library will provide all supplies. Registration is required and begins on December 1st. For grades 6-12.
