Magic Tree House Event - The Knight at Dawn

Travel through time with Jack and Annie as we talk about the books and do fun activities. This month’s activities will be based around the book The Knight at Dawn. Join Jack and Annie as they travel to the Middle Ages. Feel free to read the book beforehand, but it is not necessary. For grades K-5.
Registration is required and begins March 12.

Youth Poetry Contest

UAPL’s Teen Advisory Board is hosting a poetry contest! To participate, write your own poem and submit a copy to any of the UAPL’s Youth Departments between March 30 –April 3rd. Poems are open to creativity but are limited to 500 words.
One poem from each age group (gr. K-4; 5-8 and 9-12) will be chosen anonymously by the Teen Advisory Board, and each winner will receive a $10.00 gift certificate and will be featured on our website. Please include your name, grade, phone number and email address on your poem when entering.

Tales for Twos and Threes Class

For children ages 2-3 and their caregivers. Songs, rhymes and stories teach children how sounds and letters relate to reading and will build a foundation for future learning. Interaction with instructors and other children encourages social development and allows caregivers to connect.

Preschool Storytime Class

For children ages 3 ½ to 6 and their caregivers. Children and caregivers will learn pre-reading skills through stories, songs and rhymes to help prepare them for their Kindergarten Readiness Assessment in Literature Test ( KRAL). Kindergarteners will continue to strengthen their skills. Skills include answering questions, repeating sentences, rhyming words and identifying sounds and letters.
