Youth Chess Club

For students in grades 3-6. Checkmate! Chess lovers of all levels are welcome to join our Youth Chess Club. Our local teen experts will moderate, help beginners and suggest strategies to players. Registration is required and begins two weeks prior. (45 min.)

Story Starters Club

Do you like to write stories? Come be a part of our Story Starters Club. This month we will decorate story stones and write some fun stories. Take the stones home with you after the program and make up more stories with your family! For grades 2-5. Registration is required and begins October 22.

Movies & Popcorn

Come enjoy a Saturday afternoon movie in the library theater. We’ll be showing a newly released to DVD movie that is geared towards a young audience with a G or PG rating. The library will provide the popcorn/candy and you bring your own drink (with a lid please!) No registration necessary. Children 9 and younger need to be accompanied by an adult. Movie title will be available two weeks before screening.

These skills will help children build vocabulary, recognize objects, and build a foundation for reading and learning. Some baby signs will be incorporated into the storytime.
